Kaikoura township lies on the northern side of a small peninsula projecting into the Pacific Ocean, just two and a half hours north of Christchurch. Kaikoura is a seaside village steeped in the traditions of local Maori history, and richly blessed with abundant, world class ‘kai moana’ – food from the sea. Kaikoura is also home to a spectacular array of wildlife, which can be appreciated from the land, from the sky, and from on the water.
We are pleased to offer two tour options to Kaikoura: a wildlife and ‘whale watch’ tour which gets you up close and personal with the local inhabitants, or a fishing expedition on your own private charter boat, out on the blue waters of the South Pacific Ocean.
Hanmer Springs is a spa and holiday resort about 90 minutes’ drive northwest of Christchurch. It is set in an alpine basin and offers a variety of seasonal and all-year outdoor activities.
